Last week seemed to be a slow week for really great inbound marketing articles. Perhaps it’s the result of vacationing or maybe just a lack of news-breaking events across the industry. Regardless of the reason why, I still managed to mark a few gem articles and blog posts as worthy of sharing, so here are my top 4 inbound marketing articles for July 23 – August 3:
#4 – Clorox Bleach uses popular TV shows to fuel social media conversations with their followers. Check out this interview with Molly Steinkrauss, associate director of marketing communications, about the effectiveness of “social TV” marketing strategies.
#3 – Looking for different ways to connect and interact with your customers long after they view your marketing? Try out Shazam or other cloud based music services, and build a playlist of songs that tie back to your marketing campaign theme or product. This article by ClickZ discusses how IHOP used this strategy around their hashtag #SongsSecretlyAboutPancakes.
#2 – This article by Jason Acidre is packed full of useful & valid SEO building tips for your brand ranging from selecting a niche to how to penetrate high authority websites. By methodically working through each of the topics Jason presents you can certainly build a highly optimized brand for your small business.
#1 – Even though the topic and content of this post on Simply Measured identifies some interesting information on pulling real engagement statistics out of Twitter and how those affect links that come from Instagram, the real treasure I found in this post was located down in the comments section. For weeks I’ve been pondering the whole Instragram integration with Twitter issue and wondering whether anyone had a solution that allowed an Instagram pic (or a pic from any outside source) to show up as an inline pic on the Twitter feed. Roxanne Darling shared her work around using If This, Then That which made me do my happy dance while at the same time thinking “duh”! Thanks Roxanne!!
